How much does it cost?
2026: £1000
I ask for a 20% non-refundable deposit at the point of booking, this secures your date in my diary. I ask for 40% at the time of the script writing (usually around 4-6 months before your wedding day) and the remaining 40% a month before your wedding day.
This includes:
Do you work with LGBTQI+ couples?
One of the reasons I chose to be a humanist celebrant is their inclusive outlook on the world. Humanist celebrants have been delivering LGBT ceremonies long before they were legally recognised. Love is love, always x
Will you travel?
I’m based in Hackney in East London so mainly work in and around London but am happy to travel and have held weddings across the country. I also love a destination wedding and find it very hard to turn down gorgeous weddings abroad! Contact me for more on costs outside of London.
What is humanism?
Humanism believes in the goodness and morality of people, without the need for religion. Humanism is an understanding that we only have one life, and it should be lived to its fullest, with love, empathy and meaning.
Let’s grab life with both hands and make the special days go off with a bang!
We don’t have a clue what to include in our ceremony, can you help us?
Definitely! That’s what I’m here for. Your booking packs will get you started and then from there, we will talk through all the elements of your ceremony. We will discuss what you might want to include in your wedding and I’ll help you wheedle out the things that don’t feel very you. I will be as involved as you want, some couples come with ideas already and others just know they want more than a registry office ceremony.
Are humanist weddings legal?
Currently humanist weddings aren’t legal in England and Wales (they are in Scotland and N.Ireland). In November 2025 the government announced that they will recognise humanist marriages as legal in England and Wales, but it looks as though that is still a few years away. You can read more about this here.
I feel confident that when Humanist wedding do become legal, they will become the most popular type of wedding, as is the case in Scotland.
In the meantime, this means you have to legally register your marriage as well. This can be as small as you want. Lots of people don’t exchange their rings and only have two witnesses at this point. This is just getting the legal stuff out the way. Your humanist wedding is where it’s at!
You can do all the legal stuff for around £70 depending on your area (ask for their 2×2 on a weekday for the cheapest option).
What will you wear to our wedding?
My wardrobe is mainly vintage/vintage-inspired or retro dresses. Let me know if you have a certain colour theme and I will try my best to fit into this. Equally, if there’s anything that you think could clash or wouldn’t look right just let me know.
